President Obama and Hillary Clinton: Job Well-Done Re: the Middle East

I am particularly pleased to give kudos to President Obama and Secretary Clinton for their handling of the recent Middle East fighting.  One of the benefits of being a critic of some people is that your subsequent praise of them might merit more consideration from  your readers!

Our administration did an excellent job supporting Israel's right to defend themselves.  At first I did not hear them do so, but I think it might simply have been my failure, as I read subsequent reports that indicated the administration had been consistent from the start of teh confrontation.

Certainly when I first heard them represent our country's opinion, they stauchly supported Israel's right to defend itself from a continual onslaught of missile strikes.

They were content to play a background role and encourage others, such as Turkey and Egypt, to take the lead.  Nonetheless, they followed the situation intently and were active in the background.

At a critical juncture, it appears that they stepped up and contributed to the resolution.

The cease-fire terms are appropriate.  I'm skeptical that the ceasefire will lead to any permanent solution, but in the Middle East, it is not clear that enough parties want a permanent solution.  We could not have achieved any more than we did.
